Short Stack are back and the Central Coast punk rockers can’t believe the social media storm they have caused.
While the finer details are set to be released by Frontier Touring on Thursday, lead singer Shaun Diviney confirmed on Tuesday that the former emo heart throbs were getting back together.
Fans haven’t been shy in expressing their excitement at the news on social media, pledging:
“I’m dying my hair black and cutting a side fringe.”
Another said: “Good lord my heart can’t take it.”
And another wrote: “I’m feeling my fringe growing back.”
There's a rumour Short Stack are getting back together and I actually can't.

If this is true, catch me being the oldest bitch in the mosh pit headbanging to Sway Sway Baby.
Everyone stop what you're doing, this is probably the biggest bestest thing that's going to happen all year #stackisback #shortstack2020 #shortstack @shortstackband

“We didn’t expect the response that’s for sure, it’s humbling,” Diviney, now a real estate agent, said.
“It’s really cool to be getting the band back together.”
While a lot has changed for the trio, plenty has also stayed the same. Diviney and bandmates Andy Clemmensen and Bradie Webb are all now fathers to boys under two, and are still living on the Central Coast.
“We did LA for a bit and the UK but there’s not much surf in London,” Diviney said with a laugh.
“We’re a bunch of bogans at heart.”
Although the jury is still out on the return of the skinny jeans – Diviney said they are hoping they give their fans the same buzz he experienced when My Chemical Romance reformed at the end of last year.
“When they got back together I was blown away,” Diviney said.
“If we can do that for some people... I certainly know the feeling.”
Four years after their last tour, Diviney said they weren’t looking too far ahead.
“We didn’t anticipate we would get this big a response to something we created in a garage in Budgewoi,” he said.
