A young mum who was using social media to supply drugs — even when she should have been attending court — has been sentenced to jail.

Samantha Dillon, aka ‘Sammy Dee’, was sentenced to two years and six months jail at the Downing Centre District Court on Friday with a non-parole period of one year and three months.

With time already served she will be eligible for parole on November 15, 2020.

The 26-year-old from Narara had earlier pleaded guilty to the ongoing supply of drugs and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

A further six drug offences and one count of possessing a prohibited weapon were taken into account at sentencing on a Form 1 certificate.

An agreed set of facts tendered at court stated Dillon was supposed to attend Wyong Local Court on April 11 last year.

But when she failed to appear a warrant was issued for her arrest.

Five days later at 11.50am on April 16 police caught Dillon and a man running through bushland at the rear of Bon Bon Fire Chocolate factory on Justfrute Drive West at Gosford.

She was found to have two clear resealable bags containing 7.55g and 1.83g of methylamphetamine; three diazepam tablets; one Oxazepam tablet and a small package wrapped in a green balloon inside a clear container, which she would later tell police were 20 Buprenorphine tablets.

She did not have a script for any of the prescription medication.

Police also discovered a couple of Medicare cards, which had been reported stolen, an Adina Oceaneer men’s watch, a GoPro Hero 4 camera and a NSW Driver’s Licence belonging to someone else.

Back at Gosford Police Station they found 0.41g of cocaine in a small bag inside a chewing gum packet and an extendible metal baton.

But it was when police examined her phone the full extent of her drug dealing became apparent.

“A review of the accused’s mobile phone established the accused was in fact, supplying prohibited drugs in West Gosford on the date (of her court appearance),” the police facts read.

“An examination of this phone identified numerous conversations between the accused and other persons where the accused was referred to as Sammy, Miss D or Sam.

“Furthermore the accused discussed ongoing aspects of her personal life including the incarceration of her partner and the recent issuing of a warrant for her arrest.”

“It was apparent that the accused was largely using this service to facilitate the purchase and supply of prohibited drugs and prescribed restrictive substances.”
