A man who allegedly stabbed a colleague in the neck and chest at a construction site on the Central Coast will face trial after pleading not guilty.
Emergency services were called to the construction site at Colongra, near Lake Munmorah, on October 14 after a 33-year-old man suffered stab wounds in his neck and chest, and cuts to both hands after allegedly being attacked about 2.40pm.
He was treated at the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital where he underwent surgery.
Shortly after 4pm, Traffic & Highway Patrol Command police tracked down his alleged attacker at one of the twin service stations on the M1 at Warnervale.
Robert David Cottam, of North Gosford, was arrested and taken to Wyong Police Station where he was later charged over the stabbing.
At the time of his arrest police seized a knife he had in his possession and will allege it was the same one used in the attack.
Dressed in prison greens, the 32-yer-old appeared at Wyong Local Court via video link today where his solicitor formally entered not guilty pleas to wounding with intent to murder and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
The matter was set down for arraignment in Gosford District Court on July 25.
