Revealed: Becker & Co voted the best brunch on the Central Coast

The accolades keep flowing for a small Central Coast cafe, which has been voted as the best brunch in the region. What’s their secret?

It is a small cafe that prides itself on fresh food and a customer first focus, and it’s paying dividends.

Becker & Co has been crowned the best brunch on the Central Coast and comes after it was voted the region’s best cafe earlier in the year.

The small Avoca Beach cafe has built an incredibly loyal customer base, which more than makes up for its no frills marketing approach given it doesn’t have a fancy website, online ordering or even a land line.

Becker & Co latest gong comes the Express Advocate teamed up with celebrity foodie Matt Preston to put out a call for readers to nominate their favourite venue for brunch.

Nominations were short-listed to 25 cafes and restaurants and readers across the coast had two weeks to vote in our special online poll.

Becker & Co owners Kim and Chad Crompton bought the cafe in 2018 and set about building a loyal following.

Mr Crompton said a lot of customer tell him their smashed avo “is the best on the coast”.

“I guess the difference for us is everything is fresh,” he said.

“We don’t do bacon and egg rolls, not because we don’t like them but because we’ve decided to go down a different direction.

“We don’t fry eggs, we poach them.”

Mr Compton said avocado, delivered daily, featured prominently in a number of their breakfast options including with salmon and the cafe had a range of muesli cups, big breakfast croissant and a big range of toasties.

“We also have very, very generous portions, we don’t skimp on that,” he said.

It is not the first time Becker & Co has been recognised after making it to the finals in the search for the best coffee on the Central Coast in 2019.
