An investigation following the seizure of a 1kg pressed block of cocaine – with an estimated street value of $400,000 – from a clandestine drug lab has led to the arrest of a man on the Central Coast.

An investigation following the seizure of a 1kg pressed block of cocaine – with an estimated street value of $400,000 – from a clandestine drug lab at Rouse Hill has led to the arrest of a man on the Central Coast.
The drug lab was uncovered at a unit on Terry Rd, Rouse Hill in February after sherrin officers, executing an eviction warrant, raised suspicions with police.
The scene was processed by the State Crime Command’s Drugs and Firearms Squad, Chemical Operations Unit, and The Technical Forensic Support Unit in which the cocaine block and other drug manufacturing items were seized and forensically examined.
Strike Force Cairns was launched to investigate further, leading to officers attached to the Raptor Squad stopping a vehicle on the Pacific Hwy at Ourimbah just after 6pm on Thursday.
During a search of the car, police allegedly seized $270,000 cash, MDMA, cannabis and other items.
The driver – a 25-year-old man – was arrested and taken to Gosford police station where he was commercial drug supply, drug supply, knowingly deal with proceeds of crime, possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority, and drug possession.
He was refused bail and will appear at Gosford Local Court today.
