UK superstar celebrity chef Nigella Lawson was a surprise visitor to the Central Coast this weekend.
Lawson, who is in Australia to film MasterChef, popped up at two popular local restaurants — Fishermen’s Wharf at Woy Woy and Bombini at Avoca Beach.
She popped in for lunch at the newly refurbished Woy Woy waterfront eatery and posed for a quick snap with owner, Jenni Cregan who posted a picture on Instagram which described Lawson as one of her “culinary heroes”.
“It was an honour and a pleasure to have Nigella Lawson and her friends for lunch with us,” the post said.
Fine dining establishment Bombini on Avoca Drive was her other Central Coast food destination where she again posed with beaming staff.
Chef Cameron Cansdell posted a picture on his Instagram account saying “celebrity crush in the house”.
Lawson herself posted pictures of her Woy Woy meal where she and her companions dined on oysters, anchovy toast, battered and fried Balmain bugs, crab Singapore style then grilled mango cheeks with passionfruit ice cream — all washed down with chilled Pinot gris.
