Man hit by car at Woy Woy uses Facebook to help find culprit

A man who was rushed to hospital after being run over at Woy Woy yesterday has used Facebook to appeal for help to find the person driving the car.

Aam Gimish, 33, of Umina Beach was hit by a black Ford Falcon XR6 sedan while on Woy Woy Road near Shoalhaven Drive at about 4.15pm

His Facebook post featured a graphic image of his injuries as he lay in Gosford Hospital.

“I’m looking for a black Ford xr6 sedan probably around 2004 model that ran me over yesterday on Woy Woy road near the railway underpass at around 4:15pm,” he wrote.

“I’m in hospital with a fractured scull and busted teeth and the guy really needs to pay for what he’s done.

“If you have any info please contact the police.”

Mr Gimish’s friend Danielle Butterworth also of Umina Beach also posted a picture asking for help to find the culprits.

“I’m looking to help my mate to find the scumbag that did this to him and then drove away they need to be reported to the police if anyone was in the area when this happened or knows the car please do the right thing and report it to the police it’s absolutely disgraceful that this happened - please help him,” Ms Butterworth said.

Police have called for public information about the incident and said Mr Gimish was driving a red Jeep just prior to the incident.

They also said the driver of the Ford, a 50-year-old man, had stopped and assisted.

Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed or noticed the cars in the area just prior to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

Investigations are continuing.
