A man has been charged after allegedly shooting another man at Buff Point, near Wyong, last night.
At about 6.50pm police and emergency services were called to Tirriki Close, following reports of a shooting.
Shortly after police arrived, a 21-year-old man presented at Wyong Hospital with gunshot wounds to his chest.
He was later flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a critical condition.
Police officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Local Area Command established a crime scene and commenced investigations.
A 20-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to Wyong Police Station.
He was later charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Wyong Local Court today.
