A man has fronted court this afternoon on Friday after allegedly stabbing a 53-year-old resident “several times” in a Central Coast unit, police say.
At about 6.30pm on Thursday, police and paramedics rushed to a unit block on Danbury Ave at Gorokan after frantic triple-0 calls in relation to a reported stabbing.
At the scene, officers were told Alexander Dalton, 33, and a woman, 23, allegedly entered the unit of a 53-year-old man known to the pair before he was allegedly stabbed “several times”, according to a NSW Police statement.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.
“A crime scene was established, and officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District – assisted by PolAir – commenced a search of the area,” the statement reads.
Police later attended a Gorokan Dr address at Lake Haven and arrested Dalton and the woman, where they were then taken to Wyong Police Station.
In relation to the incident on Thursday afternoon, Dalton is charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and special aggravated break and enter.
Dalton is also charged with common assault and driving a motor vehicle during a disqualification period.
Dalton did not apply for bail and his matter will return to court on April 22.
The woman was released pending further inquiries.
