Lisarow: `Medical episode’ before a man, 65, veered off Pacific Highway in fatal crash
A man, 65, appears to have suffered a medical episode before veering off the Pacific Highway and fatally crashing into a sign.

A man suffered a suspected heart attack or other ‘medical episode’ when he veered off the Pacific Highway and ploughed into a sign at Lisarow, injuring his female passenger.
About 6.30am on Tuesday, September 29, emergency services were called to the Pacific Highway, Lisarow, after reports a Holden Commodore veered off the road.
Police were told the car was travelling south on the highway when it left the roadway near the intersection of Teralba St and crashed into a sign.
The 65-year-old driver was treated by passers-by and despite their best efforts to revive him, he died at the scene.
A female passenger was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries, before being taken to Gosford Hospital in a stable condition.
One lane remained closed for several hours with motorists are advised to expect delays or avoid the area. All lanes have since reopened.
Brisbane Water Police established a crime scene and the circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated.
However it is believed the driver may have suffered a medical episode prior to the crash.
Both the driver and passenger are yet to be formally identified and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
