The future of Gosford Waterfront is finally taking shape, with the announcement of a long-awaited hotel destination.
It has been a long time coming, with the site next to the Department of Finance and ATO buildings set to be transformed.
St Hilliers has announced it is poised to lodge its Masterplan DA next month for the highly anticipated Central Coast Quarter development at the southern end of Mann St.
The Masterplan for 26 Mann St proposes a mixed-use precinct with a hotel, apartments, food, beverage and retail outlets, along with pedestrian links connecting the development to the CBD and Leagues Club Field.
St Hilliers’ vision is to create a precinct that brings together locals, the landscape and waterfront. The Masterplan has been out for public consultation since late 2017, and has slowly evolved to compliment surrounding projects as well as the State Government's State Environment Planning Policy (SEPP).
During the consultation period, the community identified public thoroughfares as a key priority.
St Hilliers Development Manager Justyn Ng said St Hilliers had been consulting with key stakeholders regarding the development for the remainder of the Mann St site where the old Gosford Public School once stood.
“Through initial community consultation and feedback, we have created a concept for the site which seeks to provide much needed facilities and services for the region and also align with the broader plans to revitalise Gosford,” he said.
“The Central Coast Quarter masterplan has been designed to create a mixed-use precinct that will provide a variety of new offerings for visitors and locals.
“We are particularly excited that the masterplan includes a hotel on the site, as we know that Gosford and the broader Central Coast community has long had a vision for a quality hotel.”
Central Coast Quarter is described as “Gosford’s new harbourfront neighbourhood” with the designs by DKO Architects.
