Gosford man drowns while swimming to a yacht in Brisbane Water
A Sunday afternoon swim out to a yacht ended in tragedy for a 46-year-old man who drowned in Brisbane Water.

A coronial investigation will be carried out after a man’s body was pulled from Brisbane Water in Gosford on Sunday.
The 46-year-old man, believed to be from Gosford, entered the water near Masons Pde at around 4pm to swim to a nearby yacht.
Police state that a short time later, witnesses saw the man unresponsive in the water. Emergency services were called and retrieved the man from the water, however he was pronounced dead at the scene.
A Brisbane Water Police District spokesman said the death was not being treated as suspicious at this stage and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
The waterfront was unusually quiet today with locals coming to terms with the tragedy.
A local, who did not wish to be named, said he was shocked by the death however was aware that Brisbane Water can be treacherous with fast moving tides.
Sunday afternoons are a busy time at the waterfront with crowds at Gosford Sailing Club, The Coast Bar and Restaurant as well as Central Coast Aqua Park.
