A FORMER Olympic weightlifter from Ettalong Beach accused of supplying drugs on the Central Coast has had his case adjourned.
Ronald James Laycock – who represented Australia and won gold and bronze medals in the 1980s and ’90s – was charged with nine counts of supplying prohibited drugs and two charges of being in possession of an unauthorised firearm and ammunition.
The father-of-three appeared in Gosford District Court on Thursday morning.
Mr Laycock, who competed in the 1998 Seoul and 1992 Barcelona Olympics, was arrested in Woy Woy last June.
Police allege Laycock supplied an undercover officer with cocaine and crystal meth several times between April and June last year.
He is also accused of possessing cannabis, 378g of crystal meth, 33 ecstasy tablets and a shotgun.
He was granted bail in September.

At the time the prosecution opposed bail, arguing that the Central Coast was “awash with drugs” and there was nothing stopping the 48-year-old from Ettalong Beach from working with his alleged drug network again.
At Mr Laycock’s last appearance the court also heard that at the time of his arrest in June he was on ice but had not abused the drug since being in prison.
It was also stated that Mr Laycock was on welfare at the time and was a key figure in the “well-organised drug trade’’.
The hearing was adjourned until May 28.
