Police are still piecing together what led to the brazen stabbing of a man in the car park of a busy Central Coast shopping centre.
It comes as the man allegedly responsible for carrying out the attack has faced Gosford Local Court for the first time.
Johnny Tzortzopoulos, 27, of Kincumber, appeared from custody via video link on Friday where he was not required to enter a plea to one count of wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm.
Police were called to the car park of Erina Fair Shopping Centre at 7.25pm on Monday, September 16, following reports a man had been stabbed.
On arrival emergency services found a 39-year-old man with injuries to the left side of his chest and left arm.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being flown by the Toll Rescue Helicopter in a stable condition to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remained for a few days until he was discharged.
Brisbane Water Police District began an investigation and were told two men spoke to each other inside the complex shortly before walking to the carpark where one man was stabbed.
Four days later police arrested Mr Tzortzopoulos who was charged with intentional wounding and refused bail to face court on November 15.
On Friday he did not apply for bail and it was formally refused for him to face court again on November 22.
