Dog thrown from car at Wyee prompts RSPCA investigation

A TEARFUL woman has been reunited with her puppy named Braks that cheated death after it was reported to have been thrown from a car window on the Central Coast.

WHEN motorist Dean McCarthy spotted an injured dog lying on the side of Wyee Rd, Wyee, he immediately stopped his car, assuming the dog had been run over.

But when two passers-by pulled over to assist, they told him they had seen someone throw the French bulldog out of the window of a car.

Mr McCarthy, of San Remo, contacted his aunt, Janette Lincoln, who posted a photo of the dog, named Braks, on the Central Coast lost and found site, and it soon went viral.

“My nephew took the dog to the vets who checked the little fella over, scanned him and tracked down his beloved owner,” Mrs Lincoln said.

“She lived two hours away past Cessnock. She was crying and over the moon. She wasn’t sure if the dog had run away or was stolen.”

Mrs Lincoln said she couldn’t believe the response to her post, which ended up on lost and found sites, and French bulldog sites, across Sydney and the southern highlands.

“I have been overwhelmed from all the private messages I have received on Facebook,” she said.

“There were so many people worried about the little pup. It was such a cruel act. It’s just really, really horrible, but thankfully it has a happy ending.”

Mrs Lincoln urged anyone who witnessed the incident, about 1.20pm on Wyee Rd on Sunday, January 14, to contact the police or RSPCA.
