Dean Pearson charged after alleged ATM thefts, car thefts and arsons across Central Coast

A man who allegedly stole cash machines from several premises on the Central Coast before fleeing in stolen cars has been charged.

A man who allegedly stole cash machines from several premises on the Central Coast before fleeing in stolen cars has been charged.

Dean Pearson, 37, is alleged to have broken into a licensed premises on Langford Dr, Kariong, where money was stolen at about 2am on February 23 this year.

A burnt-out car was found by police on Brisbane Water Dr, West Gosford, about 6.30am.

One month later, on March 25, at about 3am, police were called to a hotel on the Pacific Hwy, Ourimbah, following reports a cash redemption machine had been removed from a licensed premises.

It’s alleged the machine fell out of a stolen vehicle that was leaving the scene.

Police say that later that morning, the car was allegedly used in the theft of a van, with both later found burnt out on Calais Road, Wamberal, and Paton Street, Woy Woy.

On Tuesday April 1, police commenced an investigation after reports a cash machine had been stolen from a premises on Chittaway Drive, Chittaway Bay.

It’s alleged the machines were stolen using a stolen car, which was later found burnt out on Debenham Rd North, Somersby.

Later that day, three men were arrested at a home in Kariong. They were charged and remain before the court.

Investigations continued after a car was allegedly stolen from a premises on Dunban Rd, Woy Woy, on Sunday May 4, 2025.

Following further inquiries, about 11am on Tuesday, police — with the assistance of the State Crime Command’s Raptor Squad — attended a home on Celebration Rd, Sadleir, and arrested Pearson.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and charged with 19 offences.

These included aggravated break and enter commit serious indictable offence – in company – steal (three counts), steal motor vehicle (four counts), drive motor vehicle during disqualification period (six counts), be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner (four counts), and dishonestly obtain property by deception (two counts).

He was also charged with three outstanding warrants relating to aggravated break and enter, stolen motor vehicle, weapons, and domestic violence offences.

Pearson was refused bail and appeared before Liverpool Local Court on Tuesday, where he was further refused bail to appear before the same court on July 18, 2025.
