A Central Coast man has been refused bail after a Hunter Valley operation led officers to an address at Charmhaven where they seized firearms, drugs and allegedly stolen items.

Jeffrey John De La Fontaine, of Charmhaven, did not apply for bail and it was formally refused when he appeared at Wyong Local Court on Friday.

De La Fontaine was arrested and charged on Wednesday following an investigation by officers attached to the Hunter Region Enforcement Squad.

Police will allege in court officers were targeting street-level drug supply north of the Central Coast when their inquiries led them to De La Fontaine’s Tingira St address about 9am on February 5.

During a subsequent search of De La Fontaine’s property police seized an estimated 142g of meth, a sawn-off 12-gauge shotgun, a homemade metal bolt-action pistol, numerous rounds of 12-gauge and .22 calibre ammunition, $345 cash, a woman’s wallet and bank cards in her name, and stolen number plates.

De La Fontaine was taken to Wyong Police Station.

The 41-year-old was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with 14 offences including nine relating to the weapons, drugs and other items seized at his address and five charges over an alleged unrelated driving incident on January 19.

Charge sheets in that matter allege De La Fontaine was seen driving about 4.40pm on the Pacific Highway at Charmhaven while disqualified in an unregistered and uninsured car.

He was adjourned to face court again on February 19.
