Central Coast weather: heavy rain, wild winds and big surf
There’s a wild night of rain, wind and big surf on the way and a very wet start for commuters tomorrow morning. It won’t be the dreaded east coast low — but you’ll definitely need your brollie.

Central Coast residents have been warned to prepare for heavy rain, damaging winds dangerous surf late today and into tomorrow.
The Bureau of Meteorology predicts winds averaging 60 to 70kmph — with gusts up to 90 kmph — along the coast tonight.
The expected swell of 5-6m has caused Fantasea Ferries to cancel all Ettalong Ferry services on Tuesday and there will be no diversion service to Patonga because the swell is expected to make docking unsafe.
South facing beaches will be worst affected including Copacabana, North Avoca, Wamberal, Pelicans Beach and Birdie Beach. The BOM also warns of the possibility of coastal erosion.
Gosford SES has advised people to:
■ Move vehicles under cover or away from trees.
■ Secure or put away loose items around the house, yard and balcony.
■ Keep at least eight metres away from fallen power lines or objects that may be energised, such as fences.
BOM meteorologist Rosemary Barr said the weather system would make for unpleasant commuting conditions tomorrow morning with rain continuing and windy conditions.
