A 26-year-old female teacher allegedly rubbed a 15-year-old student’s penis twice and incited the boy to kiss her, touch her breasts and her private parts, charge sheets have revelaled at her first court appearance.
The Central Coast woman, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, cried in the dock just metres from where her husband and parents sat in the front row of Toronto Local Court.
Charge sheets tendered to court allege the teacher groomed the boy and allegedly rubbed his penis on two occasions between December and January.
The charge sheet also allege she incited the 15-year-old boy to kiss her on the mouth, touch her breasts and insert his fingers into her vagina.
Her arrest came after Lake Macquarie police were told the teacher had allegedly been sending explicit images of herself to the student at a Central Coast high school where she was employed.
Following inquiries, the woman was arrested at a home at Wyee at 11pm yesterday and taken to Toronto Police Station.
She was charged with grooming a child for unlawful activity, aggravated indecent assault of a victim under the age of 16 and three counts of aggravated sexually touching another person.
Her solicitor successfully applied for bail under strict conditions she reside with her husband and her parents, not enter the suburb where the school was located, abide by a curfew and not use social media or the internet.
Her solicitor told the court the Department of Education had already banned her from entering any school grounds as a result of the allegations.
The police prosecutor opposed bail, telling the court the woman made “certain admissions” when she was arrested and there were concerns if she was on bail she could commit further offences.
However Magistrate Alan Railton was satisfied those risks could be mitigated by the strict conditions.
Dressed in a black dress, hooded jacket and thongs the young teacher wept, while her husband buried his face in his hands and also wiped away tears.
Magistrate Railton adjourned the matter to April 2.
