A man will face court next month to fix a sentence date after pleading guilty to 17 counts of sickening child sexual abuse before sharing images and videos of his depravity to other would-be predators via a messaging app.
The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, faced Wyong Local Court where he pleaded guilty to 17 counts of having sexual intercourse with a child, grooming a child for sex, intentionally sexually touching a child, using a child to produce abuse material and using a carriage service to share the material online.
An agreed set of facts states the then 47-year-old man met a woman, aged in her early 30s, in 2022.
The woman had children from a previous relationship.
The facts state almost immediately the man began sexually abusing two of the woman’s daughters, often while she was asleep in the same house.
The man would use his phone to film or photograph the abuse, which went on until the woman relocated to “because of difficulties with her relationship with the offender”.
He stayed on the coast where he started using the kik messenger app to connect with other deviants on a chat group called “Naughty BiGuy PMs Open”.
“During the conversations the offender refers to the sexual relationship he was having with the victims,” the facts state.
“They all disclosed becoming sexually aroused when talking about engaging in various sex acts with children.”
But when he started sharing photos and videos of his sickening acts — some of which showed his distinctive tattoos as well as the victims’ distinguishing features — it raised a number of red flags with the NSW Police Force’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit.
Detectives from that squad raided the man’s house on March 9 last year and when he answered the door and saw who it was, he tried to hide his phone “down the front of his shorts”.
“The offender denied that he had any sexual interest in children or that he had any kind of sexual relationship with the children of his partner,” the facts state.
However when police seized his phone they discovered 926 photos and videos of him abusing the children.
“These photos and videos were found within a ‘hidden’ folder on the offender’s phone,” the facts state.
The following day police spoke to the man’s ex-partner who confirmed the children had disclosed being sexually abused by him and the two girls were interviewed further by police.
Officers searched the man’s car and found a backpack containing various sex toys, one of which had been described by one of the victims.
He later agreed to participate in a recorded interview but then refused to answer any questions about the abuse.
He will face Gosford District Court on January 16 to fix a sentence date.
