Central Coast Covid: 15 new cases brings region’s total to 93

Fourteen of the Central Coast’s 15 new cases of Covid, were infectious in the community as the number of infected people in the region grows to 93.

Berejiklian warns case numbers to peak as 1,431 new cases recorded

Fifteen new cases of Covid were recorded on the Central Coast to 8pm last night.

It brings the total number of cases in this outbreak to 93.

It comes as NSW recorded four deaths and 1533 cases overnight.

Fourteen of the local cases are linked to known cases. The source of infection for one case is

under investigation. Fourteen cases were in the community while infectious.

Exposure sites

Anyone who attended these venues on the dates and times listed is a casual contact.

Casual contacts must immediately get tested and isolate until they receive a negative result,

even if they have had a test in recent days:

On Friday the message to the Central Coast was clear, “come forward and get tested”.

That day, the region recorded eight new cases of Covid as part of NSW’s total of 1431 in the 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday night.

Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD) confirmed the new cases with two of them linked to previously notified cases.

“One case is linked to a worksite cluster in Sydney,” a CCLHD spokeswoman said.

“The source of infection for the other five cases is under investigation. Six cases were in the community while infectious.

“Community vigilance is required in the following suburbs, where there is mounting evidence

of community transmission:

■ Charmhaven area including Blue Haven, Charmhaven, Doyalson, Gorokan, Hamlyn Terrace, Kanwal, Lake Haven, San Remo, Wadalba, Warnervale, Wyong

■ Bateau Bay area including Blue Bay, Bateau Bay, Killarney Vale, Long Jetty, Shelly Beach, The Entrance, The Entrance North, Toowoon Bay.

■ Toukley area including Budgewoi, Buff Point, Canton Beach, Halekulani, Magenta, Norah Head, Noraville, Toukley, Tuggerawong, Wyongah, Kanwal, Gorokan, Lake Haven.

“Residents in all of these suburbs are advised to stay on alert for symptoms, get tested immediately, and isolate even if the mildest of symptoms appear.”

It comes as the seven new cases recorded on Thursday were all infectious in the community.

The eight new cases brings the regions total to 78, with the highest growth in cases this week.

From Monday, the coast has recorded 27 new Covid cases.

The total number of vaccines administered across NSW is now 7.2m.

CCLHD has announced new exposure sites.
