The number of confirmed cases of COVID-19 across the Central Coast has soared to 19.

Central Coast Local Health District has advised the region now has 19 people with confirmed COVID-19, ranging in age from 18 to 84.

The cases include 14 “overseas acquired” cases, three close contacts of existing COVID-19 cases, one unknown source and one under investigation.

“Of these, one is in isolation at Gosford Hospital in a stable condition and the rest are in home isolation,” a CCLHD spokeswoman said.

“Health staff continue to carry out daily wellness checks with all confirmed cases in the District who remain in isolation and they are doing well.

“Close contacts of the new cases have all been identified and asked to self-isolate. They are being contacted every day to check that they are well and any close contact who develops COVID-19 symptoms will be tested for the infection.”

Earlier today, the Express reported seven confirmed cases, however the numbers had not been officially updated since Friday night.

The number of confirmed cases across NSW is now 669. The 30-39 age bracket has the highest number of cases at 113.

CCLHD is reiterating that all travellers returning or arriving from overseas must self-isolate for 14 days. This applies to everyone, even if you have no symptoms.
