A 25-year-old man from Gorokan on the NSW Central Coast has been charged with the alleged stabbing murder of another man in Sydney’s south west.
Joshua Fenby, 25, was not required to appear in Wyong Local Court on Friday after he was arrested and charged with one count of murder on Thursday.
Shortly after 9pm on Saturday, November 19, 2022, a 25-year-old man, identified in court documents as Justin Hennings, presented to Campbelltown Hospital with a stab wound to his torso.
Police will allege in court he had been driven to the hospital by someone and dropped off at the emergency department.
Despite the efforts of attending medical staff, Mr Hennings died at the hospital.
Officers from Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene at the hospital.
Detectives, with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Homicide Squad, established Strike Force Taralye to investigate the circumstances surrounding Mr Hennings’ death.
Following extensive inquiries, about 1.00pm on Thursday, February 15, Tuggerah Lakes Police and detectives from Strike Force Taralye attended Mr Fenby’s house at Minumurra Rd, Gorokan, and arrested him.
He was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with murder.
His solicitor, Ivan Sayad, appeared in court via video link from the Gold Coast where he did not ask for Mr Fenby to be brought into the court and did not apply for bail.
Magistrate John Arms formally refused Mr Fenby bail and adjourned the matter to April 16.
