THE Busways strike has been called off tomorrow, with school services to operate as normal.
While parents have scrambled for the past few days organising lifts for their children, Busways has announced that all services on the Central Coast will run to a normal timetable tomorrow, with no cancellations.
“After a mediation session with Fair Work Australia, Busways and the Transport Workers Union (TWU), protected action scheduled for Wednesday, September 26 has been called off,” a Busways statement said.
However, the company announced that some drivers from the TWU on the Coast intend to stop work on Thursday between 6am and 9am and 2pm and 5pm.
“The affected services include routes in Wyong and Gosford areas,” the statement said.
“Busways’ Gosford bus network (services operating south of Westfield Tuggerah) will operate to a Saturday timetable, meaning there will be no school bus services, only scheduled Saturday route bus services.
“Services in Busways’ Wyong network (operating north of Westfield Tuggerah), including school services, will now operate to a normal school day timetable as Busways has been able to co-ordinate its resources to cover scheduled weekday route and school services.
“All school services apart from cancelled services 2154, 2139, 2674 and 2690 will operate.”
