Budgewoi: Brittany Savage and Damien Arrowsmith face court over alleged stabbing

A man and woman have faced court charged with allegedly stabbing a woman in the thigh after breaking into her Budgewoi home.

A couple have been charged with allegedly stabbing a woman at a home in Budgewoi.

Brittany Savage, of Mayfield, and Damien Wendal Arrowsmith, of Wyong, faced Wyong Local Court via audio visual link on Monday.

They initially appeared in court over the weekend where they were both refused bail.

Police allege that at around 9.45am on Friday, a man and woman entered a home on Noela Pl in Budgewoi and went into the bedroom of a 30-year-old woman.

Police will allege in court that a struggle ensued during which the woman suffered two stab wounds to her left thigh.

Savage and Arrowsmith appeared via video link in Wyong Local Court.

The man and woman allegedly fled the scene and police were called.

Officers attached to Tuggerah Lakes Police District, with the assistance of PolAir, arrested a woman nearby and took her to Wyong Police Station.

Ms Savage, 26, has been charged with aggravated break and enter while armed with an offensive weapon in company, reckless wounding in company, three counts of trespass and malicious damage. The 26-year-old has also been charged with breach of bail.

Mr Arrowsmith, 48, was arrested at Boyce Ave, Wyong, about 2.30pm on Saturday and charged with aggravated break and enter while armed with offensive weapon in company, reckless wounding in company and trespass.

The injured woman was taken to Wyong Hospital for treatment and has since been released.

Police believe the three are known to each other.

During a brief court appearance on Monday, Ms Savage did not apply for bail with her matter adjourned until December 20.

Mr Arrowsmith’s bail was refused and his matter was also adjourned until December 20.
