Brittney Tate allegedly cut sister Toyah Tate after row over boyfriend
When Toyah Tate confronted her younger sister about allegedly sleeping with her boyfriend it ended with an 8cm cut to her arm, a court has heard.

A woman slashed her sister with a serrated steak knife after being confronted by her for sleeping with her boyfriend, a court has heard.
Brittney Tate faced Wyong Local Court on Monday after being charged with recklessly wounding her sister Toyah Isabel Tate in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to court documents Brittney, 22, and her older sister Toyah, 28, reside at the same property on Norah Ave, Charmhaven, with their mother.
Police facts, tendered during a release application, state on Saturday evening the older sister “became aware that the accused had had an intimate relationship with her boyfriend Caleb Thompson”.
“The victim confronted the accused about it and a heated argument ensued,” the facts read.
During the argument the pair scuffled, fell over and broke a coffee table.
Brittney returned to the granny flat where she lived at the back of the property and the “situation de-escalated”.
Shortly after 9pm on Saturday Brittney rang police and said she had been “hit in the lip” but when police arrived no one was answering the door of the main house or the granny flat.
Police rang Brittney eight times but she did not answer.
About 1am on Sunday Brittney entered the main house and started to scream at her older sister.
“The accused had a serrated steak knife in her hand and began to run at the victim,” the facts read.
They both ran out of the house and onto the driveway.
“The accused has swung the knife in the direction of the victim and cut her right bicep,” the facts read.
“The laceration was about 8cm long and deep enough ... exposing deep tissue.”
Brittney dropped the knife and fled.
Toyah rang police and allowed officers to take a photograph of her injury but refused to give a statement.
“She stated she only called police to get the accused to go to bed and she did not want any more action taken,” the facts read.
She was taken to Wyong Hospital during which police were able to get her version of events recorded on body worn camera.
Brittney was arrested with police noting she was unsteady on her feet, slurring her words and smelled of intoxicating liquor.
She admitted to drinking “a lot” that night, the facts added.
A police bail decision tendered with court documents alleged she was so drunk she was “unable to answer any police questions”. However she was “polite and apologetic” to police at the time of her arrest.
Brittney’s Legal Aid solicitor applied for bail but it was formally refused to February 5 next year.
By sheer coincidence Toyah was also due to face Wyong Local Court on Monday for a separate, unrelated charge of driving while her licence was cancelled.
She did not appear, and after being informed she was the “stabbing victim in the other matter”, Magistrate Mick Morahan dispensed with her bail conditions.
