A 38-year-old man has faced court for the first time after being charged over an alleged stabbing on the Woy Woy Peninsula.
Christopher Kenneth Chidley, of Umina Beach, appeared briefly at Gosford Local Court on Wednesday charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm to Daniel Skinner.
Mr Chidley was also charged with affray.
He did not enter any pleas and was refused bail to reappear via video link on June 25.
Police will allege in court Mr Skinner, 43, was seated in a Subaru on McMasters Rd, Blackwall, when a silver Holden Commodore pulled up beside the vehicle about 8.30am on Tuesday.
Charge sheets allege Mr Chidley got out of the Holden and approached the older man and engaged in an altercation before allegedly stabbing Mr Skinner in the abdomen.
Police allege Mr Chidley fled the scene in the Holden.
Mr Skinner was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital, where he remained yesterday in a serious but stable condition.
Responding officers attached to Brisbane Water Police District observed the Commodore on Ocean View Drive, Umina, a short time later.
They stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver and sole occupant, a 42-year-old woman.
Police attended a nearby home on South St, Umina Beach, where they arrested Mr Chidley and two women aged 26 and 46.
All four were taken to Gosford Police Station where the three women were released pending
further inquiries.
Mr Chidley was refused bail by police to appear at court today.
Police established a crime scene at Blackwall as well as two locations at Umina Beach.
