Armed robberies, children approached and a teen trampled by a horse
IT has been a busy week for our emergency services after a girl was trampled by a horse, residents woke during a terrifying armed robbery and police investigate a man approaching girls on a train: here’s a recap.

HAMLYN TERRACE
Two Hamlyn Terrace residents were woken about 1am on Monday morning to find two thieves armed with a firearm and a hammer.
The robbers got into the Fairmont Boulevard home through an unlocked door and demanded cash. The men made off with the occupants’ mobile phones and one of their wallets.
Tuggerah Lakes police commenced an investigation and are searching for the robbers who were dressed in dark clothing.
The man armed with the firearm was described as 170cm tall with an average build and dark hair, while the man armed with the hammer was about 190cm with a slim build.
MANGROVE MOUNTAIN
A teenager was trampled by a horse after falling during a ride on Sunday.
Paramedics were called to Wisemans Ferry Rd at 2.20pm following reports a 13-year-old had fallen off her horse and was trampled and kicked in the head.
The girl was flown to the Children’s Hospital at Westmead suffering neck and head pain.
GOSFORD
Police are appealing for public assistance after several children were approached last week.
About 1.55pm on Monday, April 21, a man was witnessed making suggestive comments to two young girls on the platform at Morisett Railway Station.
The two girls walked away, however the man followed them and was seen to take photos of them. He was then seen to walk around the platform approaching several other young females and attempting to engage them in conversation.
About 2.05pm, the man boarded a train service from Morisset to Gosford and approached a number of young girls on the train.
He later got off the train at Epping Railway Station at 3.30pm.
The matter was reported to Police Transport & Public Safety Command who commenced an investigation.
Investigators have released images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries. The man was described as black African appearance, about 180cm tall, 30-45 years old, medium build with short dark hair.
BLUE HAVEN
An elderly cabbie had a terrifying ordeal when he was robbed at knifepoint by a passenger.
The taxi driver was waiting at a rank near Wyong Train Station about 6.45pm on Tuesday, April 24, when a man entered the vehicle.
The taxi took the man to Alambee Crescent at Blue Haven, when the passenger produced a knife and demanded cash from the 71-year-old driver.
The driver handed over a sum of cash, before the man ran off.
Tuggerah Lakes police established a crime scene and started an investigation.
Following inquiries, police would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them who was described as being of caucasian appearance, in his late teens to early 20s and was last seen wearing an orange and yellow hooded jumper and blue shorts.
TERRIGAL
Police have released CCTV image of a man they believe could assist with their inquiries into an armed robbery at the Terrigal Hotel in March.
About 1.30am on Tuesday, March 13, two staff were finishing up at the closed pub when a man with his face covered entered through the rear door armed with a hammer.
The robber threatened the two male staff members and demanded cash He was given an amount of money before fleeing the scene.
He was last seen walking west on Havenview Rd. Brisbane Water police began an investigation and have now released CCTV images of a man wanted to assist with their inquiries.
He was pictured wearing a black face covering, a grey coloured hooded jumper, blue jeans, and dark shoes.

MACMASTERS BEACH
Fire crews were called to a house fire in Damien Drive at MacMasters Beach on Tuesday last week.
Fire and Rescue NSW arrived to find the property well alight in front and rear rooms. Crews entered the house wearing breathing apparatus trying to extinguish fire.
One male resident was treated by ambulance officers for his injuries.
