A disability support worker has pleaded guilty to having sex with a client who was under his care in Terrigal.
Adam Ledgerwood, of Halekulani, appeared before Gosford District Court on Thursday and confirmed three guilty pleas to charges of carer having sexual intercourse with a person with a cognitive impairment.
The 41-year-old initially pled guilty to the charges in Gosford Local Court, with the court hearing he was a carer with an in-home disability support services provider.
Charge sheets tendered to the court state that on three separate occasions in April and May 2019, Ledgerwood had sexual intercourse with a client, who has a cognitive impairment, while under his care.
All three offences happened between the hours of 10am and 2pm, with two of the charges relating to ‘cunnilingus’ and one ‘penile-vagina’ intercourse.
The court heard a fourth charge of sexual intercourse (cunnilingus) will be taken into account when Ledgerwood is sentenced.
Judge David Wilson heard there were some minor disputes over the agreed facts in the matter, with Ledgerwood’s defence given a week to respond with their concerns.
A sentence hearing was listed for Gosford District Court on October 15.
