Ad mogul John Singleton’s releases Federal Election advertisement

Ad mogul John Singleton has released a federal election ad with some unique advice in an effort to get the “least worst” party elected on the Central Coast.

Federal election still 'too close to call'

Millionaire adman John Singleton has always backed the Central Coast … and he has no plans to stop.

Mr Singleton’s latest local campaign has emerged and includes a radio advertisement offering advice to coasties on how to get the “least worst” party elected in Saturday’s Federal Election.

In the ad, Mr Singleton says he chose not to back any candidates in this year’s election as opposed to the 2013 election where he backed two independents.

The Mt White local asks people to think of one thing that Robertson federal Liberal MP Lucy Wicks or Dobell federal Labor MP Emma McBride has done for the Central Coast over the last six years.

“One thing … no we couldn’t think of one either,” he says in the ad.

“So this time instead of running candidates we are just suggesting we keep things really tight and close. We keep them so close so one day someone in government might pay us even a fraction of the attention they give western Sydney.

“So this time our recommendation is whoever you voted for last time, vote for the other mob this time. You voted Labor before, vote Liberal. You voted Liberal before, vote Labor.

“All we want to do is keep it close and may the least worst party win.”

In the 2013 election, Mr Singleton backed former cricketer Nathan Bracken and former Gosford mayor Lawrie McKinna

Mr Bracken received just over eight per cent of the vote in Dobell, with most of his preferences going to the eventual Liberal winner Karen McNamara. Mr McKinna received almost nine per cent of the vote in Robertson losing to Ms Wicks.

Mr Singleton has always backed the continued growth of the Central Coast, in recent years developing Bonython Tower in the heart of Gosford, Ravello in Point Frederick, Saddles in Mt White as well as buying and revamping The Elanora in East Gosford.

He has been vocal about “decent leadership” as the single biggest thing holding Gosford back.

“Leadership and vision is the biggest thing holding Gosford back,” Mr Singleton previously told the Express.

“The Premier, the Ministers, the local members … can someone please give a damn? They’re just fobbing us off.”

Singo’s love affair with the region started as a young boy when he enjoyed his family’s annual trips from Sydney to Killcare for two weeks of seaside holiday bliss.
