An Alice Springs man who was extradited from the Northern Territory on multiple horror charges has been jailed for his reign of terror on a woman.
Timothy Curt Wode will serve seven months in jail after he assaulted a woman, hit her dog and threatened to kill her.
Queanbeyan Local Court heard on Monday the frightening details which led to the 39-year-old’s arrest and extradition from the Northern Territory to NSW.
An agreed statement of facts tendered to the court revealed his tirade lasted from March 19 to April 9.
The facts state it began with Wode pushing his victim into the side of a car on March 19 and said knew people that would “put a bullet” in her and her dog.
Defence lawyer Luke Vozella told the court his offending followed a “similar flavour” throughout the six weeks where he hurt her dog and sent menacing messages to her and a relative.
His descent continued until he eventually fled the state.
Court documents state he then bombarded the victim with threatening messages.
The court heard Wode was extradited by police to NSW after being arrested in May at Alice Springs while he was a wanted man.
Mr Vozella Wode had been persuaded not to take his antipsychotic medication at the time of offending.
The court heard the 39-year-old grew up in Darwin and came from a violent upbringing but was always employed in the metal and automotive engineering industry.
Magistrate Roger Clisdell labelled Wode’s spree of offending as “out of control” which would have terrorised both victims.
Wode pleaded guilty to multiple offences including four counts of intimidation, two of using a carriage service to harass and assault.
He was jailed for 14 months, with a non parole period of seven months.
Convictions were recorded.
“Thank you your worship,” Wode told Mr Clisdell on audiovisual link.
