ACT Policing is counting the death of a 43-year-old man who was reportedly pinned by a truck outside a construction site on Wednesday as a road death.

This brings the ACT’s 2021 road toll to 10.

A statement from ACT Policing released on Thursday said early stages of the joint investigation with WorkSsafe ACT found the man died “on a public road, in a construction area, not on a worksite.”

ACT Policing received a report of the man being pinned by the truck at 11.25am on Wednesday at Crone Tce, Taylor.

ACT Ambulance paramedics attended but the man died at the scene.

ACT Policing said in a statement on Wednesday that a joint investigation had been launched.

“About 11.25am, police were alerted to reports of a man being pinned by a truck trailer at a home site on Crone Terrace, Taylor.

“ACT Ambulance Service Paramedics also attended and despite their efforts a 43-year-old man died at the scene.”

WorkSafe ACT and ACT Policing will continue the investigation into the man’s death and prepare a report for the coroner.
