A navy man accused of sexually touching a ten year old girl will face trial in the Queanbeyan District Court.

Dee Why, NSW, man Daniel Lindquist, 35, has pleaded not guilty to four counts of intentional sexual touching of a child aged between 10-16.

Mr Lindquist appeared at the Queanbeyan Local Court on Tuesday where his matter was committed to trial by Magistrate Michael O’Brien.

It is alleged the offending occurred in March last year in Jerrabomberra NSW, near the ACT/NSW border.

Mr Lindquist was arrested in relation to the incident on September 1, 2022.

A Department of Defence spokesman said “Defence is aware of this matter” but could not comment on ongoing court proceedings.

“There is no place within the ADF for unlawful or unacceptable behaviour,” the spokesperson said.

“Defence takes all allegations of unacceptable behaviour seriously and takes action to ensure it is dealt with swiftly and appropriately.”

The Department of Defence did not confirm if Mr Lindquist was still in active in the navy.

The matter will be heard at the District Court on May 3.

Mr Lindquist remains on bail with conditions including reporting to the Dee Why police station, to not go near the complainant and to not enter Jerrabomberra.
