A Muay Thai boxer has been granted bail after spending several weeks on remand for allegedly driving at a police officer at the Australian National University.

Felicity Loiterton, 30, was spotted by police about 4.25pm on July 10 driving a red Audi A4 along Edinburgh Ave in Canberra with a flat tyre.

Police facts tendered to the ACT Magistrates Court at a previous bail application allege the Kaleen woman continued to drive with a passenger and failed to stop for police after they activated their sirens.

Court documents allege she drove into the ANU precinct at Acton towards a cul-de-sac with a police officer exiting his car to approach the luxury vehicle.

As the cop walked towards Loiterton and told her to stop her car she allegedly reversed backwards along Ellery Cres.

Police allege as the officer moved towards the Audi while gesturing to stop, Loiterton accelerated forward which forced the cop to fall forwards onto the car’s bonnet.

The force of the impact allegedly caused the officer to roll away from the Audi and onto the road.

Court documents allege he regained his footing however Loiterton already raced off at high speed in a 40km/h zone.

The car was later found abandoned at Cook. Checks revealed the car was registered to Loiterton.

ACT Policing made a plea to the public and released Loiterton’s image and a picture of the red Audi she was allegedly driving, before she turned herself in to the City Police Station on July 13 with her lawyer.

Loiterton was charged with failing to stop a motor vehicle for police, driving a motor vehicle at police and assaulting a frontline community service provider and refused bail on July 13.

The Kaleen woman has since been charged with two additional counts of possessing controlled drugs. She has pleaded not guilty to all charges.

Defence lawyer Adrian McKenna applied for her conditional bail in the ACT Magistrates Court on Friday, which was not opposed by the prosecution.

Her matters were adjourned to September 14.
