Marc Anthony Jessop faces manslaughter charge over Harri Jokinen death
The identity of the victim of a fatal Monaro Highway crash near Cooma has been revealed in court documents.

Court documents have revealed the identity of a man who was killed when he was hit by a car allegedly being driven by a man under the influence of drugs and alcohol trying to evade police in a stolen car.
Harri Jokinen was named as the victim of a crash which occurred on the Monaro Hwy at Williamsdale, in NSW’s south on December 30 2021.
Following his death Mr Jokinen’s friends and family took to Facebook to share memories of a life taken too soon.
“From our first meeting in first grade at Downer Primary 1971 to our last catch up late last year I have known you, admired you, laughed with you and now I am crying with you,” John Valpato, a friend of Mr Jokinen, said in a Facebook post in January.
“What great mates are is hard to quantify but you were all that and more my friend. RIP Harri.”
Moruya man Marc Anthony Jessop, 49, has been charged with manslaughter in relation to Mr Jokinen’s death.
Mr Jessop was listed for a committal hearing at Queanbeyan Local Court on Tuesday.
He is facing charges including manslaughter; aggravated dangerous driving causing death; causing bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle and two counts of aggravated breaking and entering in the company of others.
The Moruya man was remanded in custody and did not appear in court on Tuesday.
He was represented by lawyer Ana Qvist of Fortify Legal who asked for adjournment which was granted by Magistrate Daniel Reiss.
Jessop has not entered any pleas to the charges against him.
Police allege at 10.50 AM on December 30, 2021 Mr Jessop crashed a stolen black Holden SV6 head on with Mr Jokinen’s Mitsubishi Starwagon during a police pursuit.
Mr Jokinen was treated at the scene but died soon after the crash.
Mr Jessop and his passenger, a man aged 55, were both injured in the crash.
In relation to the injuries sustained to the 55-year-old man, Mr Jessop was charged with causing bodily harm by misconduct.
Prior to the alleged police pursuit police allege Mr Jessop robbed a service station and a bakery in the early hours of December 29.
Police allege at 2am Mr Jessop entered the United Petroleum Service Station in Michelago where he stole six jerry cans of fuel, four cans of Red Bull energy drink, a mobile charger, “several” flavoured milks and salt and vinegar chip packets.
Police also allege Mr Jessop stole $300 at the Nimmitabel Bakery at 3am the same day at 3am.
Mr Jessop will appear at Queanbeyan Local Court again on November 8.
