Kings Highway: Man dies in multi-vehicle crash

A 51-year-old man has died after being involved in a three-vehicle collision on the Kings Highway near Bungendore.

A man has died following a multi-vehicle crash near the ACT border.

Emergency services were called to the Kings Hwy, near Goulburn Rd in

at Mulloon about 12.15pm on Thursday.

On arrival they found a Mazda sedan and a heavy vehicle had collided, before the Mazda and an Audi SUV crashed head on.

The driver and sole occupant of the Mazda died at the scene.

The driver of the heavy vehicle was not injured.

The male driver and the female front-passenger of the Audi SUV sustained minor injuries.

A child who was sitting in the back of the Audi was unharmed.

At 4pm, officers from the Monaro Police District said the Kings Highway remains closed east of Bungendore with diversions in place at Bungendore and Goulburn Rd.

A crime scene has been established and police have commenced an investigation into the crash.

A report will be prepared for the coroner
