Christopher Roy Weaver: ACT man charged with alleged manslaughter of partner

A Canberra man allegedly injected his parter with heroin, causing her to overdose and die with the accused charged with manslaughter nearly two years on from the woman’s death.

A Kambah man has been charged with manslaughter with police alleging he injected his partner with heroin, causing her to overdose in August, 2021.

An ACT Police spokesperson said at about 8.10pm on August 19, 2021, emergency services received reports of a woman who had collapsed in a Florey residence after being injected with heroin.

When emergency services arrived, CPR was commenced and the woman was transported to the Northside Canberra Hospitalwhere she was later declared deceased.

Christopher Roy Weaver, 40, was arrested on Monday by Criminal Investigations detectives and charged with one count of manslaughter and one count of administering a declared substance without authorisation.

He was refused bail in ACT Magistrates Court on Monday where he did not enter pleas to either of the charges.
