A decision on an application to permanently stop the trial of the man accused of raping Brittany Higgins will be handed down on Friday afternoon.
The associate to Chief Justice Lucy McCallum notified journalists that the decision will be handed down on Friday April 29 at 4pm.
Defence lawyers for former Liberal Staffer Bruce Lehrmann applied for a permanent stay on his upcoming rape trial on April 1.
ACT Chief Justice Lucy McCallum reserved her decision on the application when the case was last heard in the ACT Supreme Court.
A non-publication order on the evidence submitted in the previous hearing is in place until the decision on the application is handed down.
If the application is successful it would permanently prevent the case against Mr Lehrmann from being heard in court.
