A serial car park masturbator whose lewd behaviour was witnessed by an unsuspecting mum with her baby has pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent exposure at the ACT Magistrates Court.
Richardson man Andre Lewis Nott, 54, previously faced two charges of an act of indecency without consent, which was downgraded to indecent exposure when he fronted court on Tuesday.
After Nott pleaded guilty to the amended charges his lawyer asked for an adjournment so a pre-sentencing report could be prepared.
The adjournment was granted by Magistrate Louise Taylor.
According to the agreed statement of facts tendered to the court on January 3, a woman - accompanied by her one-year-old child - had parked her car at the Chisholm Village Shopping Centre car park 10 to 15 metres away from Nott’s Toyota Ute.
The woman saw Nott in the front passenger seat masturbating while fully clothed with his penis pulled through the zipper.
The woman moved her child away from view and contacted police.
In a separate incident on January 4 another woman who was outside the South Point shopping centre in Greenway saw Nott’s ute parked in a carpark.
The woman saw Nott sitting in the front passenger seat with the door open masturbating.
She took a photograph of Nott’s registration plates and contacted police.
Police arrested Nott on January 14 after searching for his vehicle registration.
Nott will remain on bail until he appears for sentencing on August 17.
Under bail conditions the serial shops masturbator can only attend his local shopping centre, and must not expose himself in public.
