An alleged bikie boss has pleaded guilty to possessing knuckle dusters among a raft of other charges including drug trafficking in the ACT Supreme Court.

John Donald George Wright, also known as John Winchester, 47, was arrested in late 2021 through ACT Policing’s Task-force Nemesis which is a probe against the activities of outlaw motorcycle gangs in the ACT.

The court heard at the time of his arrest Wright was believed to be the Rebels ACT Vice-President, however his current gang status is unclear.

The court also heard during a raid at Wright’s Braddon residence on November 2021, police found two bundles of cash amounting to $15,159, a set of knuckle dusters, a crystal substance wrapped in foil, small ziplock bags, and two small freezer bags containing powder suspected to be cocaine.

A guide to growing plants using hydroponic equipment was also found in one of the bedrooms in the apartmennt, and police said they found a silver Renault van with NSW plates which contained hydroponic equipment.

In 2022, Wright pleaded not guilty to 12 offences levelled against him but after plea negotiations seven charges were withdrawn.

During Wright’s brief arraignment on Tuesday at the ACT Supreme Court, he pleaded guilty to all remaining charges, including two counts of trafficking cocaine, possessing a prohibited weapon, possessing proceeds of crime, and conspiring to cultivate cannabis to sell.

Wright remains on bail and will face the Supreme Court for sentencing on a later date.
