A Canberra ex bikie boss has landed himself in prison after being sentenced over threatening phone calls, including one where he told an associate he’d stomp his head in.

Former Rebels ACT President Ali Hassan Bilal, 50, was sentenced to 13 months in prison, with the sentence to be suspended after four months, by Chief Magistrate Lorraine Walker.

The reformed bikie previously pleaded guilty to four counts of using a carriage service to menace/harass or cause offence, and using a carriage service to threaten to cause serious harm relating to a series of menacing phone calls intercepted by ACT Police.

When Bilal last faced court in July his lawyer, Margaret Jones SC, told the court stress was a factor behind his offending.

She also said Mr Bilal made threatening phone calls in an attempt to keep his associates on the straight and narrow; such as urging them to not take drugs or cheat on partners.

Ms Jones had also told the court her client had taken meaningful steps to engage with counselling to address his anger management issues.

The police statement of facts tendered to the court reveals numerous phone conversations, including one from January 2021 where the ex-bikie threatened to seriously injure another man.

“I’m going to punch your f**king head in c**t, where are you now f**khead?” Bilal said.

“I’m going to stomp your f**king head in now, you’re going to be sorry when I’m finished.

“You’re going to spend a week in hospital when I’m finished with you.”

This led to another expletive-laden tirade and eventually Bilal said “Don’t even speak my f**king name again”.

“Twenty four hours you got to get the f**k out of my state otherwise I’m going to shoot you.”

Another January 2021 phone call includes a tirade against an associate who dared to call Bilal “mate”.

“Yeah mate, don’t you call me mate, call me mate one more time …” Bilal said.

“You f**ked my family behind my back, you f**king disrespectful Aussie c**t. You f**king grub.

“Everything I’ve built for youse you piece of s**t, you think you can f**king just back this c**t bring him to dinner, play happy families, you c**ksucker after he f**ks me you piece of s**t. What morals have you got you c**k.”

After the associate attempted to calm Bilal down he responded with “call me mate you mother f**cker i’ll give you f**king mate”.
