An investigation has been launched into the disappearance of a Bonython man who hasn’t been seen in several weeks.
Shane Watson has not been seen or heard from since the end of March, with his family labelling his disappearance as out of character.
ACT Policing say he has not used any of his bank accounts, may not have access to a phone and was unlikely to be driving a car.
A forensic examination of his Bonython home on April 16 painted a worrying picture for police, with food left on the table which would normally be refrigerated.
ACT Policing said in a statement it was clear the home had been left without planning.
Speaking outside Winchester police station at Belconnen on Tuesday, acting Detective inspector Mundie said Mr Watson’s family raised the alarm on Sunday.
Inspector Mundie said several exhibits were taken from the 33-year-old’s home to help with the investigation.
Police were told Mr Watson would normally message his family from time to time, however none of his relatives had heard from him for weeks.
It’s understood police were looking for new leads to pinpoint where he was last seen and what date that was.
Anyone who has spoke with or who may have seen Mr Watson since early April was urged to contact ACT Policing on 131 444, especially if he gave any indication as to where he may have been going.
