A jailhouse snitch who ratted on a bikie mate has narrowly avoided being sent back behind bars after harassing a Jewish teenager with a series of Nazi and white supremacist slurs.

Zachary John Froome, 21, fronted the ACT Magistrates Court last week charged with using a carriage service to harass a 16-year-old Jewish teenager.

Court records show Froome in November last year rang his victim, and asked “what was it like to know that all your family got gassed”.

Froome called his teenage victim a “filthy Jew”, and described himself as a “pure white blood” before the teen hung up.

Froome called back minutes later and repeated the vile slurs.

Zachary Froome, 21, was serving time alongside Comanchero mate Axel Sidaros.

Two days later, Froome sent the teenager three messages from his now-deleted Instagram account, one of which said “1488SS”.

Court records say the number “14” is a reference to a white supremacist slogan, while the number “88” refers to the letter H, the eighth letter of the alphabet, and is white supremacist slang for “Heil Hitler”.

The teenager went to the Belconnen police station with her father and reported Froome’s “menacing harassing and highly offensive” behaviour.

Special Magistrate Margaret Hunter said Froome’s views had no place in civilised society.

She convicted him and sentenced him to a 12-month good behaviour bond.

Froome, a former inmate at Canberra’s prison, the Alexander Maconochie Centre, recently gave evidence against his former fellow inmate, Comanchero Axel Sidaros, who confided in Froome about his involvement in a hit-job on top former Canberra Comanchero Peter Zdravkovic.

Froome told the court Sidaros began talking after he joked “the worst thing about an attempted murder charge is the attempted bit”.

Froome was at the time behind bars on charges related to his role in the abduction, interrogation and waterboarding of a man who he and a group of mates believed knew who had stolen a stash of party drugs.
