A bushfire has begun in a remote stretch of the Namadgi National Park south of Canberra, marking the latest development of a horror summer for the region.
The fire, near the Hospital Hill lookout, remains small and is not a threat to property, the ACT Emergency Services Agency said.
Crews are on the scene.
The park is closed to the public.
It was not known on Monday morning what sparked the blaze, some 25km northeast of the raging Adaminaby Complex fire in the Kosciuszko National Park.
The fire comes as Canberra woke to relatively clear skies.
That fire, and the Dunns Road and Doutful Gap fires have seen the Snowy Mountains Hwy closed between Adaminamby and Tumut.
The Cooma Rd between Braidwood and Cooma also remains closed as a result of the out of control Good Good fire.
