A top Canberra Comanchero and his alleged home invasion sidekick will fight charges stemming from an alleged attack on the male prostitute who is the city’s second most powerful member of the rival Nomad bikie gang.
Aofangatukau Fatafehi Finau Langi and Christopher James Millington, both 31, faced the ACT Magistrates Court on Tuesday where lawyers said they would be pleading not guilty to all charges.
The duo face a string of charges including aggravated burglary, arson, discharging a weapon at a person and participating in a criminal group.
Millington faces a further charge of attempting to destroy or conceal evidence.
Police are expected to allege that the two men took part in the targeted invasion and shooting of a Chirnside Pl, Kambah house where the sergeant-at-arms of the Canberra chapter of the Nomads, Alexander Miller, lived with his girlfriend Natasha Rayner.
The incident took place on November 21 last year.
According to court documents, the house was owned by Wayne Clark.
Miller was allegedly hiding behind a locked bathroom door when one of the men in the home shot through the door.
Both Langi and Millington have been refused bail and remain behind bars.
They appeared briefly in court on Thursday, before being returned to the cells, each wearing a blue, prison-issued jumper.
Miller, who works as a male prostitute, has also been remanded in custody on unrelated drugs charges.
Neither Miller nor Ms Rayner were injured in the attack, which was the subject of a months-long probe by Canberra’s anti-bikie unit, Taskforce Nemesis.
Ms Rayner was last month the target of an alleged carjacking, in which she was chocked and her friend’s car stolen, although there is no suggestion the carjacking was linked to Langi and Millington’s alleged crime.
Langi and Millington’s case returns to court at a later date.
