A gut cleanse business entrepreneur charged with sexually assaulting a teenage boy has received permission to leave her home to perform banking activities and attend a business storage facility.
Smart Cleanse founder Savannah Daisley, 45, was charged in June 2022 with four counts of aggravated sexual intercourse without consent with a 14-year-old boy.
Her solicitor has previously told the court she denies the allegations and intends to fight the charges.
A court has previously heard Daisley allegedly had sex with the complainant four times over a 23-hour period in May 2021 and then subsequently told him to keep their conversation “locked in a chest and put in the depths of the ocean”.
A police prosecutor told the court Daisley is alleged to have been significantly intoxicated when the incidents are alleged to have occurred.
Daisley appeared before Magistrate Gareth Christofi at Downing Centre Local Court on Thursday (October 13) where she sought a bail variation through her solicitor Michael Hempsall.
She sought several variations, which were not opposed by the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and were subsequently granted by Mr Christofi.
Daisley will now only have to report to police two days a week – Mondays and Fridays – and will also relocate to an address in the Southern Highlands in November.
She will also be permitted to attend a business storage facility in the company of an approved chaperone, as well as appointments for banking and finance.
The court has also approved another woman – separate to her mother, father, and sister – who can chaperone Daisley from her address to her various appointments.
Daisley’s father is renowned horse breeder Ross Daisley, who bred and sold champion sprinter and sire Choisir.
The entrepreneur – who sported a band on her wedding ring finger when she attended court – spent weeks behind bars at Silverwater’s Metropolitan Reception and Remand Centre before she was ultimately granted strict conditional bail.
On the Smart Cleanse website, Daisley is described as its founder and director of research and development with “an extensive background in the wellness industry”.
“Savannah has helped thousands of people detoxify their bodies, lose weight, reduce stress, and reverse the ageing process through the benefits of detoxification,” the website states.
“Unlike other detoxification programs, Smart Cleanse is naturally flavoured, high quality, potent, contains certified organic ingredients, and has been developed using a researched naturopathic and scientific foundation.”
The Smart Cleanse products include “bentonite drinking clay”, cinnamon-flavoured “colon cleanse formula” and “weeding tonic”.
Daisley returns to court in October for charge certification.
