Woolworths Way, Marsden Park: Plans for a Woolworths, BWS for supermarket starved suburb

A northwest Sydney suburb is set to receive its first supermarket chain.
Fabcot Pty Ltd’s plans for a commercial building with a supermarket, commercial and rental tenancies, and parking at 1 Woolworths Way, Marsden Park, have been approved by Blacktown Council.
The proposed site is situated close to a growing residential area in Marsden Park.
A statement of environmental effects, prepared by Planning Ingenuity on behalf of the developer, revealed that a Woolworths would be built at the site.
The report stated that the community engagement period showed strong support from locals for a “high quality, convenient and accessible supermarket”.
“The overall sentiment and response to the development was positive, with the majority of community members expressing their interest,” the report stated.
The community also expressed interest in a post office and banking facilities, bakery, butcher, multicultural grocers, cafe and restaurants.
In addition to the Woolworths, there will be a BWS store, on-site parking for 191 vehicles including four accessible spaces and four electric vehicle charging spaces.
Woolworths and BWS are the only confirmed retail stores for the site, however the retail tenancies will operate seven days per week from 7am to 10pm.
The hours for Woolworths will be the same hours, seven days a week, while the BWS will operate between 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday, and 10am to 10pm on Sundays.
