Willmot man refused bail over alleged ongoing sex abuse of girl

A Willmot man remains behind bars after being charged with the alleged sexual abuse of a girl over five years.
Detectives from the Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad arrested a 25-year-old man at a home in Willmot on Wednesday, April 17, after reports a 16-year-old girl known to him had been sexually and indecently assaulted on several occasions.
Police said detectives and the Public Order and Riot Squad searched the home and seized a replica firearm, a sword, hunting knife and several electronic devices.
The items will be forensically examined.
Police said the man was charged with aggravated sexual intercourse with a person under 16 years, attempted sexual intercourse with a person aged 14-16 years and two counts of grooming a children for unlawful sexual activity.
Police will allege in court that the man sexually abused the girl and showed her sexually explicit material on numerous occasions between 2013 and 2018, when the child was aged between 10 and 15.
He was refused bail and was due to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court on Thursday, April 18.
Investigations are ongoing.
