Westpoint Blacktown: Man critical after falling from rooftop carpark

CONTENT WARNING. A man has been rushed to hospital with critical injuries after falling from the rooftop of a shopping centre carpark in western Sydney.

A man has suffered critical injuries after falling from the rooftop of a western Sydney shopping centre carpark.

It is understood emergency crews were called to Westpoint Blacktown just before midday on Thursday after reports of man had fallen from the rooftop carpark onto Balmoral Rd.

The age and extent of the man’s injuries is not known, however, it is believed the man is in a critical condition.

Police remained at the scene on Thursday afternoon redirecting traffic during an investigation of the scene.

Westpoint Centre Manager, Agata Rynkiewicz, confirmed an incident occurred at the centre.

“Our thoughts are with the person involved and their family, and we hope they recover quickly,” Ms Rynkiewicz said.

“Our team responded rapidly to the incident and worked closely with emergency services in managing the situation.

“As this is an ongoing police investigation, and out of respect for the person involved and their family we are unable to provide any further detail.”
