Western Sydney man Casey Fenn pleads not guilty to allegedly stealing $1.2m solar panels

A western Sydney man who is alleged to have stolen over $1.2m worth of solar panels from his workplace has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Here’s what we know.

A western Sydney man who allegedly stole more than $1.2m worth in solar panels from his employer will fight the charges in court.

Casey John Fenn, 37, faced Mt Druitt Local Court on Wednesday, where he pleaded not guilty to steal property of master/employer and receive stolen property.

Detectives launched an investigation after a receiving a report from local business One Power Solar Pty Ltd about stolen property.

An internal audit by the business found a total of 7894 solar panels were allegedly stolen from a warehouse in Minchinbury.

Between May 9, 2023, and August 9, 2024, police allege Fenn, who was an employee of One Power Solar, sold the panels to third parties without the company’s permission or knowledge.

Documents tendered to the court state Fenn allegedly stole about $1,262,000 worth of solar panels on 49 separate occasions.

Police arrested the Ebenezer local on November 29 at the Mt Druitt Police Station and granted strict conditional bail.

He will return to court on January 8.
